Princess

Princess was saved from a small private homestead by a neighbour of the homestead owner. She has helped to bring Princess to this world when her mother was struggling in labor, and the owner of the animals not showing any interest about an animal dying in the process of giving birth in his back yard. While Princess was able to make it, her mother died after birth. Princess was bullied by other animals on the homestead and crying most of her early days. When trying to reason with the homestead owner didn’t help, she has decided to buy Princess of him and find her a better home.

When we adopted Princess, we named her Joplin, due to her coarse cries resembling the voice of Janis Joplin. And she was crying a lot – always when left alone with other animals, without a human company. It took a long time till she learnt that our animals pose no threat to her, and finally, she got comfortable. We started calling her Princess, for her hairlocks, pretty face, and soft manners. Although her full name is Princess Joplin, today everyone calls her Princess.
