Zaja
Zaja ended up with us after we visited a nearby farmer / vet to get medicine for our animals. My daughter saw he kept rabbits, and asked if she could pet them. He asked us to wait, and came back with Zaja with the words: „I only have room for her in the freezer.“ It took one look into the girls eyes and we understood that the rabbit has to come with us.
Zaja was of incredibly warm, motherly nature. She loved being patted, and was very gentle to kids. Sometimes, she needed time alone. She was digging burrows in the garden, and playing hide and seek. Sometimes, it took us hours to find her and get her home in the evening.
Once in winter, it was taking much longer than usual. Well after dark, we have discovered she has escaped from the garden into the upper part of the property and was probably snatched by a prey bird.
